For guests with restricted mobility

Accessibility Icon The J.R. Smallwood Centre can provide the following options for accessible seating: 
- Designated spaces for patrons in wheelchairs or other mobility devices
- Fixed seats available with access to ramps, on the aisles & close to exits
- Space for patrons where we can supply an alternate chair instead of a fixed theatre seat
Please contact our box office at 256-1081 so we can make the required arrangements prior to your visit. We have an accessible lowered box office window, bar service and accessible washrooms on both floors. There are ramps at both entrances and exits to the building as well as elevator access and a ramp entrance to the main theatre. 


ParkingThere is accessible parking and access to automatic doors at both the front and rear entrance of the building.  


For guests who require support persons

Attendant IconWe welcome support persons who provide services or assistance with communication, mobility, personal care, medical needs, or access to our facilities. Support persons must have their own valid tickets for performances and events that have assigned seating. Complimentary admission for one support person will be granted with a valid attendant card or on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the box office at (709) 256-1081 or prior to performance. Attendant tickets are not available to be booked online.


For guests who are Deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing

Hearing Assistance IconOur theatres offer wireless radio-frequency hearing-assistance receivers that are also compatible with t-coil-equipped hearing aids and cochlear implants. For optimal performance, guests are encouraged to bring their own headphones, though we do have headsets that we can lend. Please reserve your hearing-assistance device when booking your ticket.


For guests with scent allergies or sensitivities

Scent IconIn consideration of others, we ask our guests to refrain from wearing scented products. While we cannot guarantee a scent-free environment, should you have an allergy to scented products and need to be moved from your original seating location, please see the House Manager.


Service Animals

Service Animal IconService animals are welcome: please call our Box Office if you have any questions or concerns regarding best seating locations when visiting with a service animal.
